Editing in iMovie & Photoshop

I have taken some shots of the actress from my trailer to be in the preliminary task of creating a poster for the movie. I have edited this photos to make them look slightly drained of colour.

I used a curved layer and a vibrance layer to enhance the brightness but reduce the saturation of colour.

Here is a printscreen of my trailer so far, I have added around 40% of the clips I have shot and have added background music whilst created manual dips in sound for when i want the natural sounds of the clip to be heard. Throughout all the individual clips I am adding the same tones and contrast to them.

Make Up Products For Trailer

I'm planning on using the fake blood on the hands of the actress during quick flash shots to hint towards the subject matter of the film.
The foundation will be used on the lips to create a pale 'ill' looking face during the time the character is 'possessed' by the spirit inside the necklace I will be using.
The pink eyeshadow will be placed under and around the eyes to enhance the ill, tired look. Because I want the main character to look drained during the trailer.

Draft Clips in iMovie

I used iMovie on a mac to edit my practice clips for my media film trailer.

With particular clips I decided I wanted a dull, dismal tone to the shots. So I added a brown/maroon tone to the background by going into clip adjustments.

Which created the look on the far right from the original tones seen in the thumbnails of the clip on the left.

Draft Photographs

These images where taken with a Canon 5D Mark II with a wide angle lens; 17-40mm with manual focus and a circular tilt shift lens also with manual focus.
I wanted to concentrate on the eyes in the practice shots as I will do in my final trailer. I want to be able to portray emotion without the actress being verbal.
I have edited the images to be highly contrasted with a dark undertone through layers of colour in photoshop. Since it's a thriller/horror I thought the darker tones would sort the feeling. On the last image the main focus is on the necklace due to it being the main feature behind my trailer, the necklace being possessed.

First Draft Storyboard

(click image for clearer, more close up image)

I have changed some of my ideas since the blog describing the plot/narrative. It still has the same around about narrative though, involving the subject matter of 'possession'.
